Seven - A Dystopian Cyberpunk meets Genetically Modified Alien?

I listen to a lot of music, especially while I write. It can be anything, from country to rock to Irish Celtic and yes you guessed it... Cyberpunk. And before you ask, yes there is a HUGE market for Cyberpunk music or sometimes known as "midtempo." Music is the backbone of my stories. Most start with some random song I listened to and that's when the magic happens. I either think of a character or a scene or sometimes just even a name. I know I know it can be weird.

Well, one day I was listening to a song, I don't even remember what song it was, and it made me think of this morally gray man with a lot of demons who truly didn't care what happened to him or those around him as long as he completed whatever it was he needed to complete. This man stuck with me... for a REALLY long time. Like years. Every time I tried to write him into a story, it just never fit. I was forcing him into a story that just wasn't his. So, this poor man sat on the back burner (yes in my mind he is real) and I shelved his story, whatever that was.

Flash forward to about six months ago and I was listening to a Cyberpunk song, with heavy beats, drums, and a really kick-ass dark vibe, and suddenly this man appeared in the streets of a broken-down dystopian city. I screamed (silently in my head). It was like finally this guy had a home! This is where this character belonged.

But truthfully, any author would know that this was only the beginning. I still had so much work ahead of me. I knew the "type" of story I wanted to write, but I didn't know how I was even going to execute it. Don't even get me started on why he belonged in this Cyberpunk world. I just knew he did.

So, after a lot of trial and error, and many sleepless nights of brainstorming and trying to figure out why this character was so important to me, the concept for this upcoming book finally hit me.

Thus creating Seven.

I don't want to give too much away, since this story will be released on Kindle Vella with one episode at a time (don't worry the first three episodes will be available on release day), but I wanted to give you a couple of secret clues on what you can expect with this novel.

So here it goes...

• Humans are either implanted with cybernetics or are complete cyborgs.

• There is an entire new race of humnoid "Aliens"

• There is a Kelpie.

• And my favorite side character has a white cat that follows him around everywhere, among other things. He's awesome!
